Moving Tips
If you've purchased cleaning products specifically designed for servicing your wooden or antique furniture, don't apply these products before moving day. Oils and waxes often weaken the material, leaving your furniture more susceptible to injury. The effect can last for several weeks, so it's best to apply these cleaning products after you move.
Avoid under-packing your boxes. It's important to fill all of your cartons to capacity to prevent possible crushing. You can use folded clothes, towels, or linens as ballast for your lighter boxes. If you're using filler material like packing peanuts, be aware of which items you intend to pack them with. Packing peanuts should not be packed with any of your electronic devices since they can generate static electricity.
There's nothing a staple can do better than a piece of packing tape. If any of your boxes have staples, take them out before you pack. Staples can cause damage to floors and hands. Use packing tape to reinforce and seal your boxes.
